Need a supportive tutor specialized in writing and/or reading for your child? I will work with you, the parent, to come up with a customized plan for your child to help him or her succeed in reading or writing. I don’t operate on a one size fits all tutoring method. I will come to your home or meet the student at the local library. I am a freelance writer for a culturally rich weekly national newspaper. My qualifications: I began tutoring my peers in all lower division English classes while I was a student at Community College of Southern Nevada. For several years after college, I focused on my writing career. But, I always wanted to help children that were struggling with their writing, reading, and general math skills. So, during the 2006-07 school year I started tutoring for Smart Kids Tutoring and Professional Tutors of America, as well as teaching reading and phonics to 1st/2nd graders for an after school program via the Education Station (in Riverside County, Calif.). I was also a substitute teacher for Central Kitsap School District in Washington state. I am ready to help your child succeed in school and build confidence.
